How we work

The Cohort Connect Consortium brings together curated longitudinal health datasets encompassing demographic and participant information across diverse categories and geographic locations.

Documentation on Indian cohort studies remains fragmented, with no consolidated database or national registry, and information is dispersed across multiple sources. Compared with large international cohorts, Indian cohorts are less well indexed and globally recognized, resulting in limited visibility. In this project, we systematically searched for and identified longitudinal studies across diverse sectors in India. Through this effort, the Cohort Connect Consortium identified 58 longitudinal studies conducted nationwide. This initiative aims to improve the discoverability and accessibility of these studies for the research community. Studies were identified using both active and passive search strategies, and the longitudinal dataset is continuously updated.

Information on each longitudinal study was collected through a structured workflow centered on manual data extraction. Primary information was obtained from peer-reviewed publications and official study websites, followed by systematic identification of additional details to enhance completeness. Data quality checks were applied at all stages to ensure accuracy and consistency.
